ONE  Yoga’s teaching staff has the most E-RYT 500 registered yoga teachers in the Denver area. With this high-caliber staff, you will be assured of a great experience in the teacher training.

What is the schedule?

The 300 YTT will be held over months.  Students will attend 10 weekends of training, plus one Thursday evening once a month.  As dictated by Yoga Alliance the program includes 280 Contact Hours, plus additional hours of study, asana and homework. Please see the dates shown below.

What is the emphasis of the 300 offering?

This 300-HR program is for teachers who want to deepen their understanding of yoga and advance their skills with confidence. It will teach bio-mechanical alignment, anatomy, yoga philosophy, yoga classical literature, self-care, theming, assisting, serving different populations, and so much more.

The emphasis of the 300 program will be the integration of alignment with yoga practice. Hatha Yoga is founded on the principles of yin and yang, or the sun and moon. It is the union of two pulsating forces. Alignment in practice can be a grounding, foundational, sustaining force, while movement, breath and flow is prana, energy and life. It is our intention to incorporate the study of these two forces for modern-day yoga. There is no right or wrong in how an individual chooses to use alignment and flow as they move forward in their career. It will be as individual as how they choose to practice.

In addition, the ONE Yoga 300 has a particular interest in yoga philosophy, classical yoga texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and works by B.K.S. Iyengar, mythology and yoga inspiration. The lead teacher,  Michelle Marchildon, is an advanced yoga teacher and an award-winning journalist,  an established yoga writer and has studied yoga texts for over 40 years. She will be weaving these subjects into various sessions as well as offering entire weekends of philosophy.

Karey Goebel E-RYT 500 is the owner and director of ONE  Yoga Denver. She has led thousands of yoga classes including large city-wide events and 7 sold-out international retreats. She has been featured in the Magazines: Origin, Mantra Yoga and Health and Denver Life. She has studied with some of the world’s leading teachers including Christina Sell, Desiree Rumbaugh, Tias Little, Baron Baptiste and others.  Although she loves to teach many yoga formats, Karey is best known for her Vinyasa, Power, Yoga Nidra, Hatha and Gentle styles of yoga.

Michelle Marchildon is known internationally as the Yogi Muse. She has been a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance since 2007, and a E-500 RYT since 2012. She was trained in both Power Yoga and Anusara, then finished her 500 YTT with Christina Sell’s school of Hatha

Michelle has studied extensively with Amy Ippoliti, Desiree Rumbaugh, Christina Sell, Darren Rhodes, Ross Rayburn, Lisa Richards and Baron Baptiste, in order of depth. She is also the author of four books on yoga, including the Theme Weaver series of books on inspiration for yoga teachers, which are used by more than 16,000 teachers and studios worldwide.

Guest Teachers may include

Christina Sell, E-500 RYT, (pending) will offer a weekend of focusing on the raw beginner and other special populations.

Desiree Rumbaugh, E-500 RYT. (pending) Desiree is a frequent visitor to One Yoga Denver and we are working on making her weekend of yoga practice count toward the overall hours of the program. TBD.

Jen Wilking, E-500 RYT, is a DPT of Physical Therapy, IAYT Yoga Therapy Certified and the premier teacher in Denver of anatomy and physiology.

Jenn Kirkpatrick, E-500 RYT, Staff, One Yoga Denver, will offer courses in the chakras and gentle hatha yoga.

Why take an advanced teacher training?

In most cases, the 200-hour trainings are able to cover basic anatomy, physiology, the yamas and niyamas, ethics and chakras. The emphasis, as it needs to be, is on the teaching of sequences and breath. The initial training often leads serious students with more questions and a sincere interest to learn more.

The 300-hour training is a very different experience from the 200-hour introduction to yoga. It is a true immersion into the study and practice of yoga. There is less emphasis on memorization of an external format, and more importance on the internal experience. This is a chance to step away from the demands of our busy lives for one weekend a month, and devote ourselves to the study of self – svidyaya – and our love of yoga.

It is chance to fall in love, over and over again, with the practice of yoga, and rediscovering who you are, and you are meant to be.

Upon program completion and approval of the lead teachers, students will earn a 300-HR certificate from ONE Yoga.  This certificate shows that the teacher has met the educational requirements needed to register with Yoga Alliance.
