About Yoga Nidra:

Yoga Nidra is an ancient science of complete relaxation that systematically awakens one’s greatest potential and reveals an ever-present, unwavering state of inner peace. Through the deepest levels of physical, mental, and emotional rest, this transformative practice facilitates the release of the source of tensions, unsupportive patterns and behaviors, acquired conditioning, and self-limiting beliefs. In the yoga nidra state, one also has the capacity to imprint new ideas on the mind, securing intentions at the deepest level, to create a resonance that generates a stream of new thought patterns and actions.

The science of Yoga Nidra is used to heal & treat a variety of disorders including Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Psychosomatic Disorder, Chronic Disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Chronic Pain, PTSD/Trauma, and Addiction.

Equanimity is a state where one’s inner peace remains undisturbed by the constant fluctuations of life. Come to know why yoga claims that it is, in fact, your natural state.

About the training:

This will be a comprehensive, 48hr teacher training designed, specifically, to educate one with the skills, background, and understanding of the vast scope of yoga nidra, including the realms of samkhya philosophy, yoga psychology and modern science.  With this unique set of tools, one will be fully prepared to effectively guide the practice in both private and group situations.  This training is open to anyone, and highly encouraged for yoga teachers as a method for extending the reach of yoga into the psychological dimensions to promote greater peace, joy, and well-being in students.  No prerequisite or prior certification is necessary, but experience with, and a current self-practice in yoga nidra is highly recommended.  One can only fully and effectively guide this practice if speaking from the depth and knowledge of personal experience.

Over the span of 8 days and 48 hours we’ll look at the practice of yoga nidra in the areas of:
–       4 main approaches
–       Science
–       Yoga Psychology
–       Yogic Philosophy/Theory
–       Benefits
–       For certain conditions/illnesses/populations
–       Practice (Receiving and teaching)
–       Cultivating an authentic voice
–       Private clients and groups
–       Designing scripts
–       Self-reflective practices for paving the way to peace

Recommended

If you plan to attend this training, begin now with a practice of yoga nidra 2-3 times a week.  If you’re inspired to journal your experiences and reflections, this will only create a stronger foundation for understanding and transmitting the practice to others.  (Journaling is not meant for psychoanalysis of the content of your experiences, but merely to build a foundation for understanding the techniques, awareness of subtler, internal states, and for acquiring insight into how the practice may be experienced by others).

Required Texts

Yoga Nidra by Swami Satyananda Saraswati
Yoga Nidra by Richard Miller
*Reading both of these texts prior to the training is highly recommended

There will be four professional yoga nidra teachers offering insight into the various methodologies of practice: Hansa Knox, Priti Chandra Klco, Karin Bustamante, and Alya Howe.

This training is appropriate for:
