In this four-session workshop Paul will teach the basics of meditation in the context of the Yoga Sutras.  Yoga is a tremendously clear-eyed and practical approach to gain freedom from the repetitive and self-defeating patterns in life. This workshop will help you understand the full scope of what it involves to strengthen your practice and realize your choices in life.  Paul will present the practical and spiritual aspects of the Sutras and facilitate discussion on how to apply them in today’s world and into your daily living.
This workshop is designed to be interactive and driven by the students’ questions and leanings. It is only sold as a series, however, you can attend the first session and decide then if you want to commit to the following three sessions.
We highly recommend that you attend all of these experiential workshops as they will build on one another.

The workshop will include:

• The scope of yoga using the eight limbs (ashtanga) of the Yoga Sutras
• An introduction to meditation (including pranayama)
• The different kinds of students and the different emphases in practice
• Practical considerations of being a committed yoga student
• How to maintain a healthy balance between your spiritual life and your worldly life

Paul Holden brings a varied background to his teaching. His interests have balanced the esoteric and the practical. He has trained people in meditation, software, business and management skills, and qi gong. He is currently a student of Swami Chandrasekharananand Saraswati who combines the specialties of Yoga, Vedanta, and Kundalini Vidya.
