We all know that long term relationships require commitment, self-reflection, inner strength and self-love. This weekend workshop will give students and teachers of all levels a chance to slow down and focus on sharpening their skills of self-observation. Instead of just noticing whether we can or cannot do a pose, we will be looking inside to see if we can discover what we are feeling in our body and how we are directing our mind to absorb the experience in the moment. The next step can then be the discovery of what we can do that might cause even a slight shift. This small shift has the potential to open up a possibility to move forward into a new place. Let’s get together and let go of some self-limiting thoughts. Let’s look at what life has presented to us and then get stronger so we can age more gracefully.

Friday, May 3:
6 – 8:30 PM: Free to Move About: Poses That Clear Lower Back and Hip Stiffness
This class will focus on freeing the lower back tightness that we all collect and store. What a great end to your week and a fantastic beginning to our weekend journey!
Saturday, May 4:
10 AM – 12:30 PM: Fluid Spine: Poses for Better Balance of Flexibility and Strength
Starting from the beginning and progressing gradually at your own pace, this class will eventually lead you to new discoveries about your unique spine and what you need to do to keep it flexible and fluid.
2:30 – 5 PM: Fifty Shades of Twists: Poses for Freedom in the Back, Hips and Knees
Twists are good medicine. They are great gifts in all their different shapes and applications. Expect a little of everything in this playful energizing class.
Sunday, May 5:
10 am-12:30 PM: Serious Relief for Stressed Out Neck and Shoulders
Your neck and shoulders deserve some good love and attention, and yoga offers the chance for incredible healing for these tight and often temperamental areas. We will strengthen first, then stretch and re-position as needed. This class is the perfect finish for our weekend. It will prepare you to begin your week with more energy and vitality.
With over thirty years of experience as a yoga student and teacher, Desiree continues to grow even more curious about her work. Traveling the world continuously for the last twenty years and teaching thousands of students, Desiree has broadened her perspective and opened her mind to many different sources of wisdom. With previous certifications in Iyengar and Anusara yoga, she stays in shape with her own “pit crew” of physical therapists, weight trainers and spiritual teachers to keep her body healthy and her mind sharp. Desiree plans to continue traveling and teaching workshops for as long as she can walk her talk. Desiree and One Yoga’s own Michelle Marchildon have co-authored the inspirational book “Fearless After Fifty: How to Thrive with Grace, Grit and Yoga”.
